I’m talking about creating, art, film, tv, literature, culture, spirituality. I’d love to hear what you have to say.
I’m also playing around with poetry for the first time. Bear with me!
About Me–I live in Richmond, VA. I’ve lived in VA my whole life. I work part time for a software firm, I’m old enough to remember before there were malls, push button phones (well, they were a luxury back then), you get the picture.
My calling and primary job is working with elderly folks at an assisted & independent living residence. I work in Activities and love my job.
I have 2 sons, about grown.
I love the fall and spring, gardening, writing, books, conversation, documentaries, art, all different kinds of music-old country music, bluegrass, roots music, folk, Grateful Dead (a genre all their own!), older rock, some rap.
Here are some pictures–

Hi Julie, found your blog tag surfing for poetry and dropped in to look around. I enjoyed your poems and would just like to encourage to keep exploring and writing. And don’t be scared … you are writing wonderfully.

My goodness – you’re just a young’un! I remember the days when you picked up a phone and an operator asked, “Number, please?”
I see I’m on your blogroll – how kind of you! I’ve just started messing with poetry, too. I’ll be sure to stop by as regularly as I can to see how you’re shaping your words!

Dear Julie,
I found you via a comment you made about Maryn McKenna’s book and your husband’s troubles with MRSA. I was delighted to see that you are in Richmond, where my close friend lives, and so glad that you had a blog so that I might contact you. First off, your poetry is lovely. Keep going, please. I’m thinking of writing about Maryn’s book-and/or people who are dealing with MRSA. Would you be willing to talk with me?
Many thanks,
nancy
